The US Open & Other Random Stuff

This weekend is the mens and womens finals of the US Open in Flushing Meadows, NY. Over labor day, I watched a LOT of tennis. And I’ve had it on the TV every night. Mike is sick of it! I can’t say I blame him. But now that it’s down to the semi finals there’s not really anyone in it that I am really rooting for. I really like Roger Federer but I’m a little tired of seeing him win everything. If Djokovich could pull off another win against him that would be huge. He has to get through Ferrer first though.

I’m starting to go a little into panic mode. Seems like there’s too much to do, not enough time to do it in, and not enough money to do it with. I’ve had a paycheck every month for almost 7 years, and this month’s will be my last for who knows how long. We have a bunch of stuff in our friends’ basement that we have to sort out, box up and get ready to ship or deliver to Detroit to my in-laws. Mike’s tools have to be boxed up and readied to ship. We have to figure out what to do about our cell phones, I have to start thinking about getting rid of my car, we have to figure out what stuff we’ll be able to pack to take to Hawaii and Australia and what stuff we’ll need when we get there. Shipping is *supposed* to be 8-10 weeks, but I’ve heard plenty of stories of that being more like 12-16 weeks. That’s the sucky part – Mike can’t go back to work until he’s got his tools.

Today I have to take my car to the dealership to have my radio replaced because the display has gone out. That means I have 2 1/2 hours to spend at a little shopping mall that has Kohls, Old Navy, Ulta, Target, PetSmart, Bath & Body, Famous Footwear…this could be very dangerous. Or at the very least, very expensive. Must.Be.Good. I should go get ready, actually…
